A.All of our ready to eat sliced apples are rinsed in a healthy natural combination of minerals including calcium and ascorbate (commonly called vitamin C) which is used to maintain freshness.
A. Yes, the rinse/dip is FDA approved.
A. No, the rinse/dip operates under the same principle of your mom squeezing lemon juice over your apples slices but our rinse/dip does not give the apples the adverse flavor effect of such treatments as lemons.
A. Yes, Appeeling Fruit’s state of the art process facility is Kosher “Star K” certified.
A. Appeeling Fruit takes food safety to the highest levels of consideration. Your safety is our number one concern. We do rigorous testing on our products and facility to insure that our product is safe to consume. We also voluntarily undergo 3rd party audits to evaluate and improve our process and food safety protocols.
A. Our apple slices are rinsed in a blend of calcium and Vitamin C to maintain their flavor and color. If maintained at 32-40ºF the apples will keep crisp and flavorful for up to 21 days from the date of manufacture.
A. Luckily we have done the hard part! Both open and unopened bags of sliced apples should be stored in the refrigerator. The fruit will retain it’s freshness for several hours after opening but they are best if enjoyed soon after you open the package. All packages are labeled with a “best if used by” date that should be followed.
A. We select our apples by the seasonality and quality of varieties. We primarily use Gala, Empire, Fuji, Pink Lady, and Granny Smith.We find that these varieties respond best to the treatment and maintain freshness.
